GOD ALONE SAVES – COMPLETELY – – – Preaching the Catechism – Justification & Sanctification
Sinful humanity always wants to deprive God of His glory. Whether it is by crediting His creation with creative power (think evolution) or diminishing Christ’s redemptive power (think works-righteousness), or by claiming the power to be born again (who can choose to be born?). Especially related to this last, Paul tells us “Indeed, it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Eph. 2:8-9)
