Pastor Andrew Burmeister

Pastor Andrew Burmeister was born on January 22, 1962, in Winona, Minnesota. He was brought to faith in Baptism [by his grandfather, Rev. Herman Pankow] on February 10, 1962. He was confirmed in the Christian faith at Goodview Trinity Lutheran Church in May 1976 and attended Lutheran Elementary in Minnesota and Lutheran High School in Wisconsin. He attended undergraduate university at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota [grad. 1984] and graduate school at the University of Southern California, attaining a Master of Computer Science in 1985. He worked in software research and development and has taught as a science professor in colleges and universities in Minnesota, including Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. He has traveled and lived abroad, including New Zealand in 1994 & 1995.
Andrew Burmeister entered Bethany Lutheran Seminary in 2002 and finished the three years of coursework. He served as vicar at Our Redeemer Lutheran of Queensland, Australia. He received a Divine Call/Assignment to [continue to] serve as Pastor of Our Redeemer and was ordained [2006] there and served there from 2006-2013. Then [returned Stateside] to serve at Our Savior Lutheran of North Lakeland, FL, 2013-2019. He most recently served ELS congregations in California, St. Paul Escondido 2019- 2020, and then Our Savior, Bishop, CA 2020-2024. He is now called to serve Our Savior, Grants Pass and Faith, Medford, OR.
Pastor Andy met his wife Bonnie [at an ELS Women’s Mission Rally] in Salt Lake City, where she is from. They have been married since 2020. They both love Oregon, and Pastor Burmeister enjoys serving the souls of Our Savior and Faith.
